Season’s Greetings to you from Founding Executive Director Selisse Berry and the entire Out & Equal team!
There is so much for us to be thankful for this year! We saw many of you in Baltimore for the 2012 Workplace Summit, despite Superstorm Sandy, which was filled with rich learning opportunities for our 1300 attendees who braved the elements.
In 2012, our Regional Affiliates held hundreds of events; our staff spent more than 200 hours teaching workplace equality principles; we expanded our presence through social media; released Out & Equal at Work: From Closet to Corner Office; and saw more companies than ever before making great strides towards workplace equality.
We also witnessed the dismantling of the discriminatory Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy; marriage equality victories in Maine, Washington and Maryland; growing LGBT representation in the US House of Representatives, and our very first out-senator, Tammy Baldwin. There is still more work to be done but we are grateful for the accomplishments we have achieved over the past year.
We are thankful for your support of Out & Equal and for all that you are doing, each and every day, to make your workplace safer, stronger and more productive for the LGBT community.
