Deloitte: Where All Leaders Thrive

Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries form one of the country’s largest private professional services organizations, providing audit, financial advisory, tax, and consulting services through more than 50,000 professionals in 100 offices in the U.S. Our innovative workplace practices have led to numerous top-employer rankings from organizations such as The Human Rights Campaign, Fortune, and DiversityInc.

In 1993, Deloitte was the first professional services organization to establish a women’s initiative, followed a year later by our diversity initiative. At that time, the broad impact of our dedication and innovation could not have been imagined. Not only did our commitment lead to Deloitte becoming an organization of firsts — we are the first and only of the Big Four to elect a minority CEO, a minority chairman, and a woman chairman — it inspired change for organizations worldwide. Inclusion continues to be woven into the fabric of our culture and represents an unsurpassed commitment to building a diverse pipeline of future leaders.

Deloitte professionals have long been supporting organizations and efforts that share our commitment to the LGBT community, including spearheading fundraising events such as AIDS LifeCycle Rides and AIDS Walks, collaborating with the Point Foundation and the Trevor Project, and developing our own It Gets Better video. Deloitte also actively supports efforts focused on workplace fairness. For instance, we joined the Business Coalition for Benefits Tax Equity and have implemented a tax equalization benefit to offset the imputed income charged to professionals who cover same and opposite-sex domestic partners on their Deloitte medical and/or dental plans. Additionally, we joined the Business Coalition for Workplace Fairness in support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).

People outside Deloitte are taking notice of our sustained inclusive culture and diverse workforce. We have received a 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for the past six years and are a perennial on Fortune’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For; DiversityInc’s Top 50, ranking in the top 10 for the past two years; and Working Mother Media’s Best Companies for Working Mothers and Best Companies for Multicultural Women lists. Our leaders are often invited to speak at conferences and events; to help other organizations — including nearly half of the Fortune 100 companies — with their own initiatives; to write or be interviewed for articles on diversity in the workplace; and to participate with governmental agencies and committees on issues related to workplace flexibility, gender, and diversity.
Inclusion is a source of opportunity, enrichment, and new thinking, and it is central to Deloitte’s 21st-century talent strategy and lasting success. Unleashing potential by fostering a culture where all leaders thrive enhances Deloitte’s business and our ability to serve our clients and our people — which in turn drives marketplace growth.
