Congratulations to Out & Equal Founding Executive Director, Selisse Berry! She is being honored with the Parks Award in Rome, Italy on May 17th for her international contributions toward workplace equality for LGBT individuals.
Selisse is the first individual ever to receive this award, and the only person to be granted membership to Parks – all other members are Italian businesses or corporations with branches in Italy.
“Ms. Berry’s work in creating Out & Equal Workplace Advocates inspired me to found Parks. Her achievements for workplace equality for LGBT employees are significant to us all,” said Ivan Scalfarotto, Founding Executive Director, Parks.
Selisse will accept the award at the GLBT People at Work Conference this week, sponsored by Parks, and the embassies of the United States and the Netherlands. Out & Equal Deputy Director Kevin Jones will speak at the conference along with Deputy Chiefs of Mission from the U.S. Embassy and the Embassy of the Netherlands.
Parks will also be presenting at the first-ever Global LGBT Workplace Summit hosted by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates in London July 5-6, 2012. Corporate executives, LGBT employees, human resources professionals, and diversity & inclusion staff will come together from around the world to consider ways to build greater equality in the workplace for LGBT people and their allies.
