City Council takes action to bar discrimination in Evansville, Indiana

Pat Baillie, Associate Director of Training

by Pat Baillie | On Monday night, the Evansville City Council voted unanimously to add sexual orientation, gender identity and age to the existing non-discrimination policy. Advocates for the measure had pointed out reasons why the measure would help make the area more attractive to businesses. You can read more details in the Evansville Courier-Press.

I taught at the Evansville Business Group on Oct 6 this year and had a great reaction (there are more details here).  I was glad to see these next steps taken in LGBT Equality in the middle of Indiana! I heard from one of the LGBT community members the other day who thanked us for our work and was excited to see changes in their policies!
