Creating Accessibility at the Workplace Summit

Out & Equal wants to assure that everyone is safe and comfortable at the Workplace Summit. If at any time you, or someone around you, needs assistance, please look for an Out & Equal staff member or visit the Registration Booth.

When offering assistance to someone who may need it, first ask, “may I help you?” This lets the person know you are willing to assist when necessary, but it also indicates your confidence in his or her ability to act independently. When speaking with someone using an interpreter, address the person you are speaking with, not the interpreter. Please remember when encountering someone using a service or guide dog, do not pet or interact with the animal; they are working.

Seats have been set aside for people with varying disabilities. Please be prepared to move chairs or to make room for people using wheelchairs. Keep aisles clear, and hold inaccessible doors open for those who may need assistance.
