Thank you Sam! How fitting I read this the day after Father's Day! My Dad is gone, but he embraced me because of the person he raised. A person with a strong moral character that was laid down and passed on by the foundation of a parents ' love, respect and honor that he taught us. The day I told him I was gay, his first words were "you are my pride and joy and that nor my love will ever change!" As always, he was true to his word! Don't get me wrong...he also added "I know you like a book and I now you like guys!"......told him he had the wrong book.....and with time and unconditional love he championed every decision I made throughout out my life! He evolved in his beliefs and acceptance of me being gay. He loved my partner, my wife in Canada where we married! He always ended each call, each visit with "I love you!" Yesterday I yearned for time with him and his big bear hug embrace! Thank you for reminding me of my Dad!

"The impression that your guest leaves with co-workers and supervisors will ultimately reflect upon your own character."

It's probably just me, but I first read this & thought, the guest was leaving the party with someone else (other than the person they arrived with)- lol...

Maybe it ought to be written:

The impression that your guest leaves, with co-workers and supervisors, will ultimately reflect upon your own character.?

Cheers! ;)

We had an amazing town call today! Looking back, we remembered those we have lost to violence for falling outside the lines of gender stereotypes whether they identify as transgender or not. Looking ahead, we heard from the Transgender Law Center on the recent Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ruling in the Macy case that extended gender protections to transgender employees. If you would like to review the podcast and slides, here are the links!

Taking a moment to look back, gives us the strength to face the new trials that lie ahead and remember why we do this work every day! Thanks to all of you who join in the day of remembrance!
